“Special needs” refers to so much: complications resulting from premature birth, developmental delays, cerebral palsy, neurological problems, birth defects… many times, children with special needs are technology-dependent, and require long-term care from home health aides or nurses.

Whatever your child’s needs, RP Home Care can provide
you with trained staff through the Kids at Home Program
who can help your child to grow and develop well, right in
his or her home environment. The Kids at Home Program
specializes in family-centered care, focusing not only on the
needs of the child, but also on helping the whole family
maintain a healthy, balanced, positive lifestyle. You can
receive either intermittent visits or continuous care shifts
as you require, including:

Shift Care (Private Duty Nursing): You will have access
to home health aides, skilled Registered Nurses, and Licensed Practical Nurses, both in the home and in the school setting. Shift care not only provides care for your child, but helps your family maintain a balanced and healthy lifestyle. Our team specializes in tracheotomy and ventilator care. A field supervisor (nurse) will coordinate and supervise the plan of care.

Skilled Nursing Visits: A nurse will perform any necessary evaluations, skilled nursing care, wound care, and teaching.

Home Health Aides: Our staff, under the supervision of a field supervisor (nurse), will help maintain the child's independence, perform range of motion exercises, and assist with bathing, grooming, and the activities of daily living.

Medication Management: We will assist you and your family in safely administering necessary medications, and in monitoring your response to your medications.

Homemaker Services: Our homemakers will help you maintain your home environment. They will provide meal preparation, light housekeeping, and laundry services, and can assist you with shopping and errands (or go independently for you if you are unable to leave the home).
